New Year, Moderately Improved, Still Wonderful You

2020. A highly anticipated New Year is finally here. It’s the season of social media highlight reels and declarations about all the ways in which we plan to take control of our lives for the better (and for real this time!)

Amidst all of the usual talk of fitness goals, travel dreams, and big financial aspirations, we couldn’t help but wonder (that’s for all of you Carrie Bradshaw fans out there) what are some of the more mundane or routine life-maintenance resolutions you have this year? Resolutions that are decidedly...non-sexy.

If you’re still nailing down your resolutions or intentions, here’s some inspiration from a few folks on our team:

Kelsey Thayer, HR Manager:

Mine is to start using more zero waste products, particularly products like shampoo, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc.

Megan Herron, Graphic Designer:

One of my New Year's resolutions is to try to stretch at least 10 minutes a day!

Jess Erwin, Client Experience Manager & Associate Consultant:

Coming up with a household budget, and actually sticking to it for 12 months!

Writing and sending at least one letter a month.

Finishing all my products before buying a new one.

Stephanie Wolf, Creative Manager:

I need to adjust my budget to save for drywall, plumbing, and HVAC.

Hannah Walden, Facilitator & Associate Consultant:

After folding my laundry, I’m going to immediately put it away (last year I got in the habit of leaving clothes on the dining room table, exactly where they do NOT belong). And following with a personal tradition, I’ll also be reluctantly participating in dry January.

Ryann Lofchie, CEO:

1) Sugar detox in January

2) One month of only eating 2 meals per day (consistent intermittent fasting)

3) Oil pulling

4) 30 days of not taking any medications at all - so no Tylenol for a headache or cough medicine, or anything. Just one month med-free. (Unless I’m dying…)

5) One month of eating vegan

6) One month of being on time! ha.

Tati, Pena, Studio Manager:

Committing to six social outings a month! While I love being totally alone to recharge, I also firmly believe in the power of community and intentional relationships. This is my second year of committing to this and it's my favorite intention I've ever set.  Yes, it's weird that I have to have a benchmark for this, but if I don't make it a priority I would just hibernate forever.
